Hongwei Chen is currently a Full Professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University. He is a senior member of OSA and IEEE. His current research interests include opto-electronic signal processing, photonic intelligence, silicon photonics and microwave photonics. Hongwei Chen has won the gold prize of national invention exhibition in 2017, the first prize of technological invention of Optical Engineering Society in 2019. His scientific achievements have been reported by media including MIT Technology Review, SPIE newsroom, EurekAlerk, China Science Daily, ScienceNet, etc. He is a reviewer for top-rank Nature/IEEE/OSA/SPIE journals and was invited to serve as a technical committee member in high-level international conferences including OFC/CLEO/Photonics West/MWP.

Dr. Guohua Xie is currently a Professor at Instititue of Flexible Electronics (IFE, Future Technologies) of Xiamen University, China. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Jilin University (China) in 2011, working on OLED microdisplays. From August 2011, Dr. Xie carried out his postdoctoral research at TU Dresden and Fraunhofer IPMS (Germany), sponsored by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, investigating the stability of OLEDs. Then he worked for an OLED-based interdisciplinary project to treat skin cancer with OLEDs at the University of St Andrews (UK) since 2013. From 2015, he joined the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences of Wuhan University (China), investigating new luminescent organic materials and devices. Dr. Xie joined Xiamen University from 2023, working on the interdisciplinary research of the emerging optoelectronic materials and devices, e.g., organic LEDs, quantum-dot LEDs, and perovskite LEDs. He has co-authored over 250 peer-reviewed publications with an H-index of 53 and contributed to 1 book as the editor-in-chief. In 2020, Dr. Xie has been admitted as a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry.

Dr. Eugene S. Mananga is a Full Professor of physics and nuclear medicine at The City University of New York, an Adjunct Professor of applied physics at New York University, and a Visiting Scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He is currently a selected Fellow at KAVLI Institute for Theoretical Physics (KITP) at the University of California Santa Barbara. His research spans a range of topics in condensed matter physics, materials science, and computational science. Specifically, his research focused on controlling the spin dynamics in solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and using computational methods based on density functional theory to investigate and characterize materials systems for energy storage as well as zeolite catalysis. His work utilizes a range of methods, from experimental solid-state NMR, to theoretical chemical physics and spectroscopy, and modern computational chemical science with high-performance computing. He has published more than 80 peer-review scientific articles and is the recipient of several distinguished awards including the 2017 Henry Wasser Award in physics from The CUNY Academy for Humanities and Sciences in recognition of Outstanding Scholarship and Academic Performance, and the 2018 Distinguished Scientist Award from the American Chemical Society (New York Section) for “Contributions and Advanced Studies in the Theory of Spin Dynamics in Solid-State NMR and Quantum Mechanics,” the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award from VDGOOD Professional Association in India in Recognition for International Scientists of Engineering, Science and Medicine, the 2022 CUNY Junior Faculty Research Award in Science and Engineering (JFRASE) sponsored by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation for potential to make a significant contribution to Physics, to Nuclear Magnetic Resonance & Lithium-Ion Battery Fields, to CUNY, and to society, and more recently the 2023 President’s Award for Excellence in Research from the President of BCC of The City University of New York for Excellence in Research, Creative Activities, Outstanding Dedication, Hard Work, and Passion for Education. Prof. Mananga has been selected to several Visiting Faculty Fellowships from the US Department of Energy to perform summer research in major US National Laboratories including Argonne National Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Bao-Ping Zhang received his B.S. degree in physics from Lanzhou University and the M.E. degree in microelectronics from Hebei Semiconductor Research Institute, China, and the Dr. Eng. degree in applied physics from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He used to work in The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN) & Sharp Co. Ltd, Japan, and Xiamen University, China. He is currently a professor of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and a visiting professor of Xiamen University, China. He is engaged in wide gap semiconductor materials, devices and applications, particularly, GaN-based microcavity optoelectronic devices. His group has reported the first room-temperature continuous-wave green VCSEL using InGaN quantum dots (QDs), the first VCSELs in the UVC spectral band and polariton lasing from InGaN QWs, the orthogonally polarized emitting RCLED. He is now an executive editor of Semiconductor Science and Technology (IOP).

He obtained his BSc and MSC degrees from the University of Baghdad in 1968 and 1972 respectively. He got his PhD degree from Dundee University in Water Resources Engineering in 1976. Now he is Professor at the department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering at Lulea Technical University Sweden. Previously worked at Baghdad University 1976-1995 then at Al-Bayt University in Jordan (1995- 2007). Research interests are mainly in Geology, Water Resources and Environment. Served several academic administrative posts (Dean, Head of Department). Publications include more than 900 articles in international/national journals, chapters in books and 22 books. He executed more than 60 major research projects in Iraq, Jordan, Sweden, and UK. Awarded several scientific and educational awards, among them is the British Council on its 70th Anniversary awarded him top 5 scientists in Cultural Relations. One patent on Physical methods for the separation of iron oxides. Supervised more than 70 postgraduate students at universities in Iraq, Jordan, UK, Sweden, and Australia. Member of several scientific societies e.g., International Association of Hydrological Sciences, Chartered Institution of Water and Environment Management, IAHR etc. Member of the editorial board of 42 international journals.

Mohammad (Kahren) Qorbani, Assistant Research Scholar at National Taiwan University. His Areas of interest are condensed matter physics, material science, nanoscience, semiconductor physics, low- & two-dimensional materials, optoelectronic, optical spectroscopies, growth of 2D materials, electrochemical & photoelectrochemical water splitting, photocatalytic CO2 reduction, electrochemical energy storage devices, and simulation.

W. M. Liu was born in Hunan province and the Ph.D in the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China, 06/1994. At the same time, the number of his publication papers included in SCI ranked the third in the country so that he got the special awards scholarships of the President of Chinese Academy of Sciences. During 2008-2011, He is the members of editorial board of the English journal: Frontiers of Physics in China.

Dr. Gu is a full professor and doctoral supervisor of Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently leader of the N10 research group. He has published more than 300 papers in Nature sub-journal, Adv. Mater., JACS, Nano Lett., PRL etc., which have been quoted more than 6000 times. He was awarded the title of Cross-Century Talent by the Ministry of Education in 2000, the State Council Special subsidy in 2006, the Chinese Physical Society Gangfu Hu Physics Award in 2007, and was supported by National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2008

Paulo C. DE MORAIS, PhD, was full Professor of Physics at the University of Brasilia (UnB) – Brazil up to 2013, Appointed as UnB’s Emeritus Professor (2014), Appointed as Guest Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology – China (2011), Visiting Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) – China (2012-2015), Appointed as Distinguished Professor at Anhui University (AHU) – China (2016-2019), Appointed as Full Professor at Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) – Brazil (2018), Appointed as CNPq-1A Research Fellowship since 2010. 2007 Master Research Prize from UnB, 2008-member of the European ERA NET Nanoscience Committee, Member of the IEEE-Magnetic Society Technical Committee, Senior Member of the IEEE Society, 2012 China’s 1000 Foreign Expert Recipient, and 2012 Academic Excellence Award from Brazilian Professor’s Union. He held two-years (1987-1988) post-doc position with Bell Communications Research – New Jersey, USA and received his Doctoral degree in Solid State Physics (1986) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais – Brazil. He graduated in both Chemistry (1976) and Physics (1977) at UnB. Professor Morais is member of the Brazilian Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – IEEE. He has served as referee for more than 50 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of more than 15 technical journals and has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 40 years. He has delivered 170 Invited Talks all over the World. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanosized materials (magnetic fluid, magnetoliposome, magnetic nanoemulsion, magnetic nanocapsule, magnetic nanofilm, magnetic nanocomposite, nanosized semiconductors, polymeric dots, carbon dots, and graphene quantum dots). With about 500 published papers in peer reviewed journals, more than 12,500 citations and 16 patents, he has appeared in recent World ranking of top scientists, such as 2020-Stanford, 2022-Research.com, 2023-AD Scientific Index, and 2023-Research.com.
